Projects

Welcome to the RevEngineer's workshop! Here you can take a look at all of the cool projects I've been working on, and subscribe to stay updated on progress! The concept of RevEngineering, or "Reverse Engineering," involves taking things apart, learning how they work by examination and analysis, and putting them back together, but not before making some heavy duty (and fun) modifications! Here you'll find all sorts of demonstrations of RevEngineering, and even get an inside look on how I did it, so that you can do it, too!

Many of the projects I've featured have either stemmed from my own inspiration, or are based on projects I've stumbled upon while roaming the vast repository of information that is the Internet.  I've provided links and references where I can; you know, credit where credit is due.

Below is a list of (most of) the projects I have worked on over the years, from a Steampunk'd Nerf Maverick to a fully functional Sonic Screwdriver IR remote. Got any questions or comments? Feel free to post them to each project.  I'll be happy to answer your questions, and I always love feedback!

The RevEngineer's Sonic Screwdriver
A modified 10th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver with IR functionality; this baby can turn on any properly modified appliance just like a TV remote. I feel like a Time Lord every time I use it!

The Franken-Strat
If I could have a sidekick, this beauty would be it. Inspired by Eddie Van Halen's own axe, this guitar has been my instrument of choice when playing with my band, and an example of my wild imagination.

The Malice of the Panda
My latest attempt at building my own desktop computer, while also trying out some modifications of my own. They're simple enough that you could even try some of the stuff on your own computer.

Altiods Amp - Coming Soon!
A pocket sized amplifier based on the LM386 IC and fit snugly into an Altoids tin! It's compact! It's discreet! It smells good!

The Rev-Engineer's Sonic Screwdriver Mark II - Coming Soon!
This little piece of engineering is my most involved project yet, and probably the most rewarding! It's a multi-tool fixed up to look like my very own sonic screwdriver. No modifications here; this baby is built entirely from scratch, design and all!

Dalek Ring Modulator - Coming Soon!
Ever wanted to channel your inner Dalek, but felt like going through the Human-Dalek fusion was just a bit too much? This voice changer is based on the very same one that was used on the classic Doctor Who serial back in the 60's!

The Steam-Powered Six-Shot - Coming Soon!
A steampunk'd Nerf Maverick that transformed from broken toy to art project to bad-ass sidearm. Probably the single most popular thing anyone ever thought to steampunk.

The Musical Machine - Coming Soon!
This little Vacuum-tube analog amplifier represents what was once the backbone of the audio industry, a device still popular among audiophiles and engineers alike.

The Ragnarök - Coming Soon!
Once dubbed "The Doomsday Machine," this was probably what got me voted "Most Likely to Rule the World" in high school. Meet The Ragnarök, a linear accelerator (coil-gun) of mass-over-engineering.
